Hi All,

As many, I am experiencing issue while trying to query for Windows Updates. Here are the steps I have followed already and the SFCFix result:
We are talking about a Win 7 Premium Family edition with SP1.

I have installed all the necessary KB's to resolve and lowed down the CBS and SFC corruption to 0.
Here is the list of the KB's I have manually installed:
- KB3172605
- KB976932

-
KB3138612
- KB947821 (SURT ran several time until windows updates ran again.)

After I ran the SURT tool and the SFCFix several times it remain some lines pointing to Avast in the SFCFix log:
I have uninstalled Avast using AvastClear.exe tool and had reinstalled it clean, but still getting that in the log and windows update is stuck again :banghead:

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Those avast ones are a bug in the avast installer/uninstaller and can be ignored. They shouldn't affect your windows updates. Have you seen and tried the following?

Search for Windows Updates takes forever? - A possible solution

Hi BrianDrab,

Many Thanks for your suggestion. I will try it. I have not checked yet, but I think that some of those KB are in already. I will check this out a bit later this week and let you know ;)

Cheers,
