Hey, I have been trying to update my windows to Windows 11 for a couple of weeks. First I had the issue of
"We can't tell if your PC has enough space to continue installing Windows 11"
I tried to fix the error by rebuilding the BCD but after the
asked me: "Total identified Windows installations: 1 [1] K:\Windows Add installation to boot list? Yes[Y]/No[N]/All[A]:"
(I entered Y), it gave me an error but after this, somehow, the
"We can't tell if your PC has enough space to continue installing Windows 11"
was NO longer there and it continued to the install screen. It restarted after the progress went to a 100%
but then landed me back to Windows 10 with the error code: (0xC1900101 - 0x20017) and the
error message stating: "The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation"
(I have attached the screenshot for this as well). After this, I looked at the setuperr.log in the directory:
"C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther" and found out that it mentioned that Apply Failed due to a registry key
associated with my antivirus, so I uninstalled it and after the retrying, I had the same (0xC1900101 - 0x20017)
error code but this time the setuperr.log didn't show any error related to my AV. I have attached it below.
Thank you for reading this.
