Hi,
First of all, here is the file asked for in "How to fix Windows Update Error Code 0x80073712"
Download COMPONENTS zip

I installed windows 7 on my computer not so long ago, and didn't wanted to move to windows 10. However, the update started and forced me to use a programm to get rid of it, GWX Control Panel. Since then, and because i really didn't wanted any other problem with win 10, i asked windows update to stop updating.
Long short, now i can't update anymore. Here's a thread i found with the same problem : https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...-keeps-asking-me-restart-over-over-again.html

I followed each step, with no success and unfortunately the last step (the one working for the OP) is a user specific file download and i didn't take the risk to try it.

I'll link all files asked in said thread, in case it's needed.

Thanks for the help, Alycos.

Sorry i can't find a way to edit my post, and i need to restart between some steps.

Step 1 : sfc / scannow
Completed, everything is fine.

Step 2 : System Update Readiness Tool - Scan
Completed, but no change. 105 Errors - 97 Fixed
Here is the CheckSUR Log : Download CheckSUR zip

Step 3 : Running
net stop wuauserv
ren %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\Download DL.bak
ren %SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore DS.bak
net start wuauserv
In the Command Prompt as Admin.
The two middle ones didn't seems to do anything.

Rebooting...

So now i'm checking my update history, but there's nothing in there, and i had no messages about updates being installed when i rebooted.
If i check for updates, it says Windows Update cannot check for updates as I need to restart the computer so that a previous installation can be completed

Step 4 : I already uploaded the COMPONENTS file higher

There is no such file as C:\Windows\WinSxS\pending.xml

Step 5 : Rebooting in safe mode...
Ran the "Windows Repair all-In-One" and reboot, still nothing.

Step 6 : Copy this in cmd :
reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /s >1.txt && notepad 1.txt

Here is the WU Info :
