I have exactly the same issue as in this thread it seems: [SOLVED] - Windows Update (error code 0x800700c1)

I have attached the same data and details as droberts82 did in that thread as per Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions. Really hoping for a solution for my system where I don't have to do a fresh install.

Windows 10 22H2 19045.3516

Code:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.

Code:
C:\WINDOWS\system32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.19041.844

Image Version: 10.0.19045.3516

Error: 193

%1 is not a valid Win32 application.

The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Best Regards, Johan

  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:

Hi,

Please reboot the system first and run DISM again. If it fails attach the latest CBS logs.
Code:

This is the status. I am going to reboot now and will check back in as soon as its done.

Please post also the latest CBS logs first before attempting to update again.

My machine is now fully up to date and everything seems to be working as it should! Thank you very much Maxstar!

Hi Maxstar,

Windows Update has worked fine since your fix, but now I am encountering this (KB5034441):
