Hi my name is Nick,

I have today just formatted my SSD to do a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate, as I was having problems with BSoD's. I tried to fix the BSoD's to no avail so as I said I just did a clean install. I have had no problems with BSoD's so that seems to be fixed with the clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate. I have gotten around to installing the Windows updates but it just keeps searching and I get the error 0x80070057. I have gotten the error with the Windows Update Troubleshoooter. I then got around to just doing the updates offline, and that did seem to work, but I don't see them installed anywhere, so I assume that they're not installed. I have tried several things, like searching the issue and different things, but nothing seems to do the trick. I read some of your posts here, and you seem to be extremely helpful so I decided to give it a try here. I really hope you can help me out with this issue. I have installed my drivers for Graphics Card, Soundcard, Network Driver and that's it.

Note: the BSoD that I got was Error 0x0000000A - IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
I thought it was my RAM, but I checked with MEMTEST86+ and another program can't recall what it is called.
Checked drivers no problems there.

Just did the SFCFIX:

I just wanted to let you all know, that I fixed the issue with Windows update by formatting once more, and letting it install all updates up until it doesn't search properly, then restarting the pc. Downloading two updates manually from windows first one is [h=1]"April 2015 servicing stack update for Windows 7 Windows Server 2008 R2" and the second one is "July 2016 update rollup for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1". Then when those have been installed, restart your pc and then start to search for updates and then it should work, it might take 5-10 min but it should get the job done.[/h]
