Thank you, I can now see which file needs fixing:

The problem here is SFC did not give a complete path of this file, can you please run SFCFix.exe by double clicking on it, once done post the text file that pops up. SFCFix should be able to regenerate the full path of this file, from here I will be able to create a fix.

Thanks

So I'm not sure what text you wanted me to provide from SFCFix.exe. But it claims that it has fixed the corruptions when the command sfc/ scannow clearly shows that there are still corruptions.. How should i proceed?

Did SFC populate a log?

If not I will manually check which file is corrupt:

Update worked! Thanks so much! Just wondering if you'd have any idea why my computer is booting a lot more slowly for the past week. It's also suddenly not waking up from sleep. I thought it started because this update failed but now that it installed I'm still having the same issues. Any thoughts?

Awesome!

Could you please do me a favor? I am collecting samples of this corrupt file to hopefully get an automatic fix and report the findings to MS to fix.

Could you please go to the following path: C:\SFCFix\Backups\C\WINDOWS\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-com-dtc-runtime_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_0a1162f033fa01f6

You should see a file called MSDTC.LOG -> right click on this file -> 'Sent To' click on 'Compressed (Zipped) File' -> name the file MSDTC_akumar.zip and attach this file to your next post

my computer used to do this as well, it was a case of resetting the Hibernate.sys file:
The Tech Cookbook ? Reset hiberfil.sys file

The same commands work on a Windows 8 machine.

Thanks again for all of your help. I've attached the zip you had asked for. The fix you gave me with resetting the hiberfil.sys file did not work unfortunately. My PC is actually still waking up if I put it to sleep but it just has the lockscreen pulled down on the screen without the clock and date on the bottom left. I can still move the mouse around but the system does not seem to be accepting commands. Boot up times also seem to have at least doubled since last Wednesday (when this update failed). Hi akumar,

Sorry for the delay, I have just returned from my holidays.

Are updates still failing on this machine? If yes it is the same update as before?
