I am having issues with Windows Updates. Every update is failing. I have run the Windows update troubleshooter to resolve the issues. The tool was unable to fix the errors. The screen shot from the Windows Update troubleshooter is pasted herewith.

Based on your advice I ran a scan on SFC but it did not return any error.

I further ran and installed the package on SURT scan as per advice successfully.

As the next step I ran the SFCFix and attaching the output herewith.

I am running Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 on my machine. It is a 31-bit system.

It will be great if you can provide any clue on how to solve the problem.

SFCFix Script

!!! WARNING !!! The following fix is only relevant for this system and no other, applying this fix on another computer will not work and most likely will cause problems...
  • Download SFCFix.exe (by Niemiro) and save it to the Desktop
  • Download the file SFCFIX.zip and save this to your Desktop
  • On your Desktop, make sure you have the two files:
    myjIXnC.png
    SFCFix.exe and
    sfpcJCen14An3ndjNGCI7mByhjHJud.png
    SFCFIX.zip
  • Drag the file SFCFIX.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it
  • The SFCFix tool will process the script
  • Upon completion, a log file SFCFix.txt should be created on your Desktop
  • Open the SFCFix.txt log and copy & paste the contents to your post

Thanks for the log.

  • Run SURT again. Its like an Update but it can take a long time to do the work. You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running
  • Please attach to your post the log from the following location: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
    Note:
    If the file is too big please Zip it and upload the ZIP file to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here.

Sorry I did a mistake on my last fix!

Please open the following folder C:\windows\Temp\CheckSur inside you will find folder called servicing change the name to winsxs

Run SURT again and attach the new log.

I have run SURT again after renaming servicing folder under C:\windows\Temp\CheckSur to winsxs.

Download Farbar Service Scanner and save the file to the Desktop.
  • Run FSS
  • Check all the options
  • click Scan
Post the generated log in your reply.

Export the CBS folder
  1. Click the Start button
    Win7Orb.gif
    then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.
  8. Attach this to your next post please, if the file is too big please upload the file to a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc. or upload to SendSpace and just provide the link for the file here

Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable

  • extract the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to c:\Windows\TEMP the zip will extract to a folder called Tweaking.com - Windows Repair
  • execute the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder, accept the Security warning and the EULA
  • click the button Jump To Repairs
  • click the Open Repairs button to access the following screen:

  • click the box All Repairs to uncheck all the box's
  • check only the following box's:
    • 01 - Reset Registry Permissions
    • 02 - Reset File Permissions
    • 03 - Reset Service Permissions
    • 04 - Register System Files
    • 25 - Restore Important Windows Services
    • 26 - Set Windows Services to Default Startup
  • check the box Restart/Shutdown System When Finished > Restart System
  • click the Start Repairs button

As advised I have run the Windows Repair tool in Safe Mode and restarted by computer. Please find enclosed the Log. After that I tried to run the security update KB3139398 once again.
It is the same issue.
