Hello,

I am having problems with windows update and it says the following messages even after restarting many times
Restart your computer to install important updates.
Windows can't update important files and services while the system is using them. Save any open files and restart the computer and then try to check for new updates.

Also I cannot install some programs such as itunes and photoshop and I guess this might be the problem

I have tried a lot of fixes and lurked some threads here and since they tell me to not try the instructions or fixes provided to other users I made this post.

For the one fix that most thread suggested transactional logfile corruption whatever that is I get the following

fsutil resource setautoreset true %systemdrive%\
-operation completed successfully

attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
-says nothing
del %SystemRoot%\System32\Config\TxR\*
-ask me y/n say Y and gives me the second thing I attached to the post

attrib -r -s -h %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*
-says nothing
del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.tm*
-says it could not find that file
del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.blf
-says it could not find that file
del %SystemRoot%\System32\SMI\Store\Machine\*.regtrans-ms
-says it could not find that file

Im using windows7 64bits

I will be grateful if you can help me to solve this problem.

Best regards,
D4C

Welcome to Sysnative.

This error can be a tricky one, and it's one I'm not too experienced with, but we should be able to solve it!

Let's start by checking SURT and ensuring that it doesn't find any issues.

Please run SURT for me again. Download it from here: What is the System Update Readiness Tool? - Windows Help. Once SURT has completed installing, please zip up and attach the following log to your next post:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log
