Windows Update Hang & SFCFix Error

Hi There,

I am currently experiencing issues where any sort of windows update will take hours to download and install (even for updates as small as 20MB). Upon doing some research I was able to try downloading the System Readiness Update Tool and successfully run that but same issues.

I then proceeded to attempt a SFC /scannow and it would return a "cannot fix corrupted files", so I then ran SFCFix and even then the corrpution was not resolved just yet. I attached my CBS log file, so I'm hoping someone here can take a stab at resolvign this! If you need any additional information, I'd be happy to help out in any way I can before re-running SFC fix once more.

Thanks

Very good. Let's verify that SFC doesn't find anything else.

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.

Thanks so much for your help. I ran the SFC before work and it completed without any issues, so I have attached the updated CBS file.
