Windows update freezes and BITS service wont start.

Hello,

When I try to open the windows update in control panel it just hangs on a white window which is unresponsive.
I tried to troubleshoot the problem but the troubleshooter just gets to "Starting Bits service" and it never continues after this point.
I want to upgrade to Windows 10 but this issue is preventing me to do so.
Any incoming help is really appreciated! Thanks in advance!
