Yes. As you instructed, changed over to SSD. Re-installed Windows Vista Starter 32 Bit from CD - Genuine. Windows Update took me all the way till full updates. But upon full update we get to see the same problem--- Windows Defender Updates are not coming. See the screenshot. Now tell me is something not going on at MS servers? Only manual updates to Win Defender gets through successfully but not via Win Update or Win Defender check for updates. Now what is wrong? My guess is MS servers have a problem since April 2019.
Alright, now that was too much to begin with.....
Now, the errors within my PC--
See the Autoruns Yellow Highlighted items (total 3). These are missing files. Something wrong here.... What to do? Sfc and chkdsk says no problem found.
What do you say?
And yes ... Vista Starter is not accepting freewares it earlier used to accept. Any change in system configuration and it goes for hardware monitoring, then verifying DMI pool.... then AMD changes in Data .... Building DMI ... then if all goes well starts or else... gives a bluedump with error A5, 11, 6, 0, 0... saying BIOS is not fully ACPI compliant...Run System Repair with OS disk.... cannot repair... went for system Restore... successful...came to this stage (as reporting)....at times also did MBR rebuild successfully via system repair with OS Disk...via CMD prompt.....
Got hardware checked by Techie (not a friend...paid fees), says all is OK. I noticed SSD & CD-ROM Drives show itself in Taskbar icon for Safe Removal (internal disks never used to show itself for safe removal). What is going on? Did I not set the things properly.... the device Manager is without a yellow mark or any other mark.
Save Vista, save Hardware..... don't just use & throw! Repair & maintain.
Lets get to the bottom of this problem and solve it. There is something in it to learn here...... about technology...
