[SOLVED] Windows update fails and SFCfix wants files

HP ENVY m6 Entertainment PC, m6-1105dx.

Updates were working fine until I tried fixing the Windows 10 No-Offer problem. It wasn't/isn't being shown. I've tried every fix I could get my hands on to no avail.

Have run sfc /scannow and then SFCfix. At the very end it asked for me to insert Windows Disk so that it could fix some dlls.

I do not have a Windows 8 or 8.1 disk.

The laptop is running 8.1. Any help would be appreciated.

SFCFix - Fix Time

Follow the instructions below to download and execute a SFCFix fix, and provide the log.
  • Download SFCFix and move the executable on your Desktop;
  • Download the attached SFCFix.zip and move the archive to your Desktop;
    Note: Make sure that the file is named SFCFix.zip, do not rename it.
  • Save any work you have open, and close every programs;

Hello Aura,

I ran sfc /scannow afterwards and it reported that it fixed some files and completed without errors.

Ran Windows update successfully and that seems fixed.

I still don't have the "Get Windows 10" icon, but at least everything else is now good and working!
