Hello everyone,

I struggle to fix some windows update erros on my computer therefore I came here with the hope to finally get through this logjam. Note : I am using windows 8.1 x64.

Let's start with some explanations about my windows update problems and what I have done so far :

1°) Windows update did not work at all so I used the microsoft windows update fixing tool which worked well
2°) Then, I used windows update but I finally got errors for the following "important" updates : KB4486105, KB4541509, KB4535104, KB4538124. For those fails the error code is the same : 800F0922.
3°) To fix the problem I opened a cmd.exe as administrator, then I went into the full administrator mode using "net user administrateur /active:yes" and I launched the command "sfc /scannow"
4°) Because the SFC command did not succeed to repair all the files/errors I firstly launched the command "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth" which worked well and did not give me any bad message.
5°) Then, I entered the command "Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" and with no surprise it found corrupted files/errors.
6°) I downloaded and used the SFCFix tool and as mentioned on topics on this forum the tool repaired the error "Amd64\CNBJ2530.DPB" but I still get problems with the "msrating.dll" which, I supposed, might need to be replaced/duplicated using a specific script.

Please find attached the SFCFix.txt file I got after the analysis.

My final goal is to install those important updates and repairing the corrupted files found by SFC so as to have a "clean" version of windows because my computer do not work as I expect (slow, not smooth etc.) although my hardware should perform well even for a notebook. Note : After Kaspersky's tests I do not think I have got a malware which could explain these bad performances.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello and welcome,

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, then press enter.

Code:
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"

This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.
Note: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Filedropper or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the download link.

Follow the instructions below please.

I would say that it seems it has worked.

Great. Restart the computer.
Check Windows Update again and report the result.
If it fails, run sfc /scannow again and attach the zipped cbs.log to your next reply.

Hello PeterJ,

It has worked almost perfectly ! I just still have a problem with the KB4541509 update and sfc scannow did not find anything. I think I will look closer to the previous packages needed for this last update.

Thank you !

Great. I will keep this thread open just in case you need help.
Please report if you fixed it yourself.
