In the device manager there is an yellow exclamation mark with an error "The configuration registry database is corrupt." Additionally windows update wants to install multiple drivers that had already been installed since ages but they all fail with an error 0x800703f1 I tried to install KB4528760 but it also failed with 0x800703f1. Later I tried to upgrade it to 1909 through Windows Update Assistant but got same error 0x800703f1 SFC and DISM scans show no errors. I went to the folder and saw that the only file that hasn't been updated is DRIVERS file. So I suspect it must be the culprit. Here are my cbs log and drivers file. CBS.zip Attachments DRIVERS.zip 714.9 KB · Views: 2

No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad. Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again. Take the file from the Drivers folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config Attachments DRIVERS.zip 637.3 KB · Views: 2
