Hi
I have been getting this error 800F0900 for a few weeks now. I have windows 7 sp1. I've looked into it and tryed various things from the microsoft website. I've also tryed restoring computer to a previous date but the problem still persists. It is preventing me from checking for updates.
Help would be greatly apreciated.

Ive tryed to attach my cbs file but can't seem to be able to. I think it is too large a file at 17.4mb when zipped. Is there any way of getting it smaller or any other file i should attach.

Thanks
Badbeat

Hi
Thanks for getting back to me Tom.
As per usual i made a mistake and instead of dropping your txt file on top of the sfcfix.exe as you instructed i ran the programme in error. It seems to have fixed the issue with updates but im a little worried i have done something which could harm my computer. Im asuming the problem i was having with the update will reoccur at some point as the source of the problem wasnt found.

Thanks for taking the time to assist me and im sorry I appear incapable of following simple instructions.

Richard

Hi Richard,

No worries, it won't have caused any harm, but thanks for letting me know. It's great to hear the problem has gone but I'd just like to double check with the logs as I'd hate to send you away with other problems. Can you download and install the System Update Readiness Tool please? Please use the correct link below, depending on your Windows installation.

32 bit: Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 (KB947821) [February 2014] from Official Microsoft Download Center
64 bit: Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [February 2014] from Official Microsoft Download Center

Post the log when finished:

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

Also post the SFCFix log (SFCFix.txt) on your Desktop please :)
