I just formatted my pc and I can't get past these two updates:
KB2345886 and KB976932

Windows update gives the message with the 800B0100 error code.
Not sure if it's related, but I'm using the ESET Nod 32 Antivirus.

What should I do?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Forgot to say: Win 7 Ultimate

Thanks Tom. Such a quick reply! Wow!

Downloaded, installed, restarted and still no joy updating.
Funny thing is that 6 others updates happenned, but these two won't...

The log is attached.

Perfect!

Give Windows Update a try again and let me know how it goes. :)

Thanks for the effort!

Well, one of them went through, but KB2345886 stills fails! :(
KB976932 installed!

Hooray!
Download, installed and voilá!

Thanks everyone! No error so far (one different update going on atm).
Btw, what if this error shows up again? Am I wrong or we didn't solve the error, we just went another way to update (not complaining, just trying to understand!)?

That's great news! :)

I highly doubt the error will occur again. The reason we had to install on of the updates manually is explained nicely below:

The deal is, with error codes 0x800B0100 and 0x800F0900 (effectively the same problem with the same fix of repairing corrupt .cat, .mum. and .manifest files in SURT log) sometimes (sporadically with no known precise causes/correlations) the updates which were corrupt or have in the past failed will continue to fail through the Windows Update interface with error code 0x8024200D (ERROR_DS_ATTRIBUTE_OR_VALUE_EXISTS). Fortunately, the fix is simply: install manually from microsoft.com.

In this case, the 0x8024200D error wasn't displayed, instead it showed the original 0x800B0100 error. However, it seemed that the 0x8024200D error was the underlying error.

The SURT log you sent me shows that all the corruptions have been repaired:

I understand! Windows being Windows, afterall.

Anyway, thanks so much for your time.

Uuuh.. Hello again? :P
Got the same error again :/ But now it is the Service Pack one that won't install.

To Tekno Venus: After the issue I mentioned to you via PM.

EDIT: Error code C0000135, this time

Hi rapozaum,

I'm just stopping by whilst Stephen so all the information he requires is awaiting his return.

Export CBS folder

  1. Click the Start button
    StartButton_16x16.gif
    then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.

Attach CBS.zip to your next post please!

Hi again,

Can you run SURT once more for me please:

Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

  1. Download the System Update Readiness Tool from Microsoft --> here <-- Please save the tool to a convenient location as it may be necessary to run it again.
  2. After the download has completed, double-click the file and wait while it initializes.
  3. Click Yes to begin installation. Please note it may take some time to complete and may appear to stall whilst installing. Don't worry, this is perfectly normal behaviour. Also note, whilst I say "installing", it's actually running the tool and can therefore be "installed" (run) repeatedly.

Export CBS folder

  1. Click the Start button :startorb: then click Computer.
  8. Attach this new file to your next post.

Hi,

SURT has repaired an F-Mark in the registry which is good -
Code:
Checking Component Store
(f) CSI F Mark Missing 0x00000002 f!dot3.mof amd64_microsoft-windows-dot3svc-mof_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_f480a6036336c07e

Will SP1 install now?
