I've been trying to install 1 important update for the longest of times, but without success. I haven't really done anything, like running a Fixit. I've just come with my problem here since you guys were able to help me. I have a Windows 7 Home Premium computer.

Hello Seshasi, welcome to Sysnative!

Let's get some logs and see what's going on here.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the attached file, SFCFix.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.txt - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.txt.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Export CBS folder

  1. Click the Start button
    StartButton_16x16.gif
    then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.

Can you attach CBS.zip to your next post please?

Tom

Hello Seshasi,

Thanks, that's perfect. All that SFCFix script did was collect the logs for us, so that's a perfectly normal output.

Your CBS log shows your 0x8007010B but I have to say, I haven't run into this particular error before:

Can you download and install the System Update Readiness Tool please?

Download System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [November 2013] from Official Microsoft Download Centre

Post the log when finished:

I can't seem to run this file because I have a x32 based system. Do you happen to have that version?

Hi Seshasi,

Hmm, I was hoping that would shed some light on this problem but maybe not. One more log please:
