Windows update error 8024402F- nothing is working

I got this laptop with a windows 8 and upgraded to windows 8.1 months ago. Windows update was working very fine until a couple of days ago. I tried restore point, cleaning and fixing DISM.EXE in command promt and typing sfc.exe /scannow and everything that is possible. i can find a specific problem and microsoft isnt giving me any useful hints or advice.
