I have tried both the readiness tools and the troubleshooting that are suggested by Microsoft. Unfortunately no success.

I saw a previous post regarding this and it was fixed with the Manual Package replacement, however there was a warning not to try it as that solution was specified for that user alone.

I'm running...

Windows 7 x64 Home Edition.

Would greatly appreciate any help you guys could offer!

Thanks.

Marc.

Here's the CBS folder. (Had to take out the .cab files to make it smaller)

Sorry for the second post, I don't see an edit option for the main post.

You appear to have some problems with the contents of the SoftwareDistribution\Download folder.

This could be due to corruption in the SoftwareDistribution folder - the problem
with that the conventional cure can lead to problems later on, if
not handled properly, and you will lose your Update history (but the updates
will still be installed, and viewable in the Installed Updates listing).

Open an Elevated Command Prompt

Run the following commands

NET STOP WUAUSERV
REN C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution SDOLD
NET START WUAUSERV

wait 15 minutes, and reboot

then wait 10 minutes, and open Windows Updates, and run a Check for Updates.

Install only the oldest update found - and reboot once installed

then go back to Windows updates and install the others.
