This one important update (KB3032323) fails every time with error code 80073712. Same result if I run it from the stand alone file (Windows6.1-KB3032323-x64.msu).

This computer is a AMD A6-3420M with Radeon HD Graphics 1.50 GHz running windows 7 Home Premium SP1.

In my latest failed attempt, I followed this process:
1) full scan with MSE complete
2) run System Update Readiness Tool (SURT). it installs hotfix for windows KB947821
3) Attempted windows update for KB3032323 but failed, try again button also failed
4) run SFCFix as administrator.
Here is the SFCFix log file:
SFCFix version 2.4.3.0 by niemiro.

I attempted to upload the CBS.zip file but it did not work. Maybe too big (13MB) ?

Thanks for any help,

Thanks for the information. Please do the following.

Step#1 - Fix Corrupt Files
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Please download the attached file, Packs.zip and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
  3. Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
  4. A window will open showing two folders, Manifests and Packages
  5. Open the Manifests folder and copy the files into the following folder (if there are any files). If the Manifests folder doesn't exist within Winsxs you will need to create it.
    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
  6. Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
  7. When the SURT finishes installing, zip up and attach the log file shown below:
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

Step#2 - SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.

You did it perfect, thanks. You are correct the Packages folder in this case was empty so nothing needed done with it. Please do the following.

Step#1 - SFCFix Script
Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop. If you still have this on your desktop from downloading previously, you don't need to re-download.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please

Step#2 - SFC Scan
  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.

Step#3 - Manually Download and Install Update
Please download and install the update you were having issues with from here. Thanks.

It is resolved! Thank you!!! :thumbsup2:
I went back to windows update and checked for new updates, only 4 other optional updates showed up and not the problematic KB3032323 update. Attached are the CBS.zip and SFCFix.txt files.

Hi Tanto -

It doesn't appear that you used the proper SFCFix.zip. You may have used an old one. I would delete any SFCFix.zip you have previously downloaded, then download the one from my most recent post and use that one. Can you please follow the instructions again?

The resulting text file from Step#1 shouldn't have the following in it.
Failed to find any content under directory

Hi BrianDrab,
You may be correct, I used the wrong file. It's one of the hazards of working at 1am just before going to sleep :)

I ran the steps again. Here are the results:
