[SOLVED] Windows Update Error 800736B3: KB3067903, KB3061518, KB3075226, KB3055642, KB3033890

Hi all,

when i trying to install the updates KB3067903, KB3061518, KB3075226, KB3055642, KB3033890 ..... on my Win7 Pro(64 bit) machine, I am getting error 800736B3 for each of them.
The other updates below are those actually never success.

System File Checker (SFC)
Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply;

On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select

Run as Administrator
On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
Enter the command below and press on Enter;

Note: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";

The file size is quite large, which is about 98Mb, the size reduces to 4.8Mb after compressed using winzip.

The SFC scan returned a clean CBS.log. Restart your computer then try to install the updates again, and if they fail, tell me what error code you're getting and upload the following files for me to review.

Alright follow the instructions below please.

Windows Repair All-In-One
NOTE: Before following to step below, please disable your Antivirus software or any other real-time security software that you have enabled.

Boot in Safe Mode with Networking;
Download the portable version of Windows Repair All-In-One;
Move the file (archive) on your Desktop, and extract it there;
Go in the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio folder, then Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder, right-click on Repair_Windows.exe and select Run as Administrator;
From there, click on the Next button until you are presented with an Open Repairs button and click on it;
Let the Registry back up complete, and move on to the check-list window;
Click on the Unselect All button at the bottom, then check the following items:
- Repair Windows Update;
- Delete Temporary Files;
Once done, click on the Start Repairs button and let the scan execute;
If you are being prompted with a Security Warning, allow it to go through;
Once the repair is complete, it'll ask you to restart your computer, please do it;

Once done, restart your computer normally, and check for Windows Update. Now, select only one in the list and write down its number. Once done, try to install it. If it fails, upload the two following files for me to review please.

I have completed the repair this morning. But I am still getting the same Error Code:800736B3. It is still failing although i choose a single update KB3033890.

Retrieving the COMPONENTS Hive
Follow the instructions below to retrieve your COMPONENTS Hive and send me it.

Open your Windows Explorer, and navigate to the C:\Windows\System32\Config folder;
In this folder, find the COMPONENTS file (there's no extension), and copy it to your Desktop;
Note: If you receive an error message saying that the COMPONENTS file is in use, restart your computer and try again. If the error message persist, let me know.
Right-click on it, and select Send to... and choose Compressed (zipped) folder;
Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;

Same to you :) There's nothing in the COMPONENTS Hive about the KB throwing an error, let's check the CBS Key.

Exporting the CBS Registry Key
Follow the instructions below to export the CBS Key from the Registry and upload it.

On Windows 7, click on the Start Menu button, then enter Regedit, right-click on the icon that will appear and select Run as Administrator;
On Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, press on the Win key + S keys, enter Regedit, right-click on the icon that will appear and select Run as Administrator;
In Regedit, in the left-pane, navigate to the Registry key below and select it by clicking on it:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing
Once the key is selected, click on the File menu and select Export...;
From there Save menu, change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*);
Name the file CBS (without any file extension) and save it on your Desktop;
Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL here;

I'll need an export of your SxS Key for the fix. Follow the instructions below please.

Export SideBySide

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit

When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator

When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide

Once selected, click File > Export....

Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (*.*)

Name this file SxS (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.

Once done please upload this file via Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace.

Edit: Before I ask for the SxS Key, let's try to uninstall that update.

Uninstall a Windows Update - Command Prompt
Follow the instructions below to uninstall a Windows Update manually via the command prompt.

On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select Run as Administrator
On Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin);
On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);
Enter the command below (you can copy/paste it, to paste in the command prompt, right-click inside it and select Paste):
- wusa /uninstall /KB:3033890
Let me know the outcome of the command: either it uninstall the update or either it says that the update isn't installed on the system;

Alright, try the following please.

- dism /online /remove-package /packagenameackage_1_for_kb3033890_bf~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.0
Let me know the outcome of the command: either it uninstall the update or either it says that the update isn't installed on the system;
