Hello everyone,

I have a 2008 R2 SP1 Server having an issue with windows update. It has not been able to search for updates and continues to have the same error code: 80004002. I have attempted the started fixes offered by MS on windows update issues with no help. I have run the System Update Readiness Tool with change and a long list of missing items. I have attached the SFCFix text and CBS logs. I appreciate any help on this.

Hi DizzleWR -

Unfortunately there are too many errors to surgically fix. Your only options here are to attempt a repair install/In Place Upgrade or do a clean install from scratch. The benefit of the repair install is that you don't lose any data or configurations. Information on the repair install is at the following link.
Code:
Summary:
Seconds executed: 402
 Found 3969 errors
CSI Missing Deployment Key Total count: 3907
CSI C Mark Deployment Missing Total count: 62

Hey BrianDrab,

I appreciate the quick response back. After first getting the report with all the errors, that was my first thought. I am getting confirmation if this was already attempted and if that is the case (server hosed), I will recommend new install. Thanks again!
