Windows Update Error - 0x800f0982 - PSFX_E_MATCHING_COMPONENT_NOT_FOUND

Hello,

One of our WS2019 Essentials servers continuously returns the error in the thread title on the following update:

2022-11 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2019 (1809) for x64-based Systems (KB5019966) - Error 0x800f0982

I've run through the steps and attached the appropriate files per the forum posting instructions.

Also included:

CBS_Error.log - shows "Error" string logging output from the CBS folder, if it helps in searching.

lang_pack_[1|2].PNG - shows failed 'es-ES' language pack removal from Dec-2021, which may be part of the update failure.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.

• Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
• Please copy this file to your desktop.
• Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
• Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
• If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.
