[SOLVED] Windows update error 0x80073701 when installing KB5013943

System: Windows 11 21H2

When trying to install monthly update, it always show error 0x80073701.

When I use DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, it tells 0x800f081f, cannot find source.

The SFCfix cannot find any corruption.

When I try to install by windows 11 image, it failed because of 0x800f0955-0x20003 during INSTALL_UPDATES SAFE_OS stage.

Wondering how to fix, thanks.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
Click on the Yes button here.

Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply.

Hi,

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.

Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Hi,

You need to drag SFCFixScript.txt into SFCFix.exe to launch the script.

I guess so. It was whatever automatic upgrade that was pushed to my device and I installed it. Current build is 21H2 22000.613
