Hi good people, I am having this problem on windows update that is preventing me to get the latest windows 10 update and also it is causing a very anoying problem on Add or remove features, it just shows blank and I cant activate hyper-v.
I have triyed, downloading windows 10 update asistant but i get this error: 0x800704c7 It goes all the way to 20% and then it crashes with this error code.
When I try to use Windows update it says my version is outdated and I need to update to 1909 version, but doing so gives me error 0x80071160.
I have followed some tutorials in this page:
- sfc/scannow i get a "windows resource protection could not perform de requested operation" arround 20%
- DISM doesnt work either. I get error 87
- SFCFix does nothing, runs very fast and says everuthyng is correct (see the attached log)

Please help, I want to avoid a clean install and looing all my data. Best,

Hi there

Apologies for the delay. Are you still requiring assistance?

Yes, i have tryied some things from youtube an other forums without success. Please help

Please do the following

Export/Upload CBS folder
  1. On Windows 8 and Windows 10, press the Windows key, type This PC, and press Enter.
    On Windows Vista and Windows 7, click the Start button then click Computer.
  2. Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
  3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
  4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
  5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
  6. Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
  7. A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created on your desktop.
  8. Please upload it to a file sharing service and provide the link to it in your next reply. Examples of services to upload to are Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace

sorry about the delay I couldn't get access to pc because of the covid, but I wont have that problem anymore

great, thanks.

Just wanted to confirm.

Hi

Please do the following.

Step#1 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
    Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

Hi

Please do the following

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.
    info_failing.png

Ok it's running now. It will probably take 3 hours. I'll post the results when it's finished

It ended without errors, and no red Highlighted entries.

Hi

Please do the following.

Step1 - SFC Fix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put </> tags around the log to break up the text.
Step2 - SFC scan

SFC Scan
  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

    Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.
    Note: If the file is too large to upload, use a file sharing service like Sendspace and paste the link here.

Hi

You shouldn't need to restart the PC - there are still errors to fix. I'll post the next fix shortly.
