My windows updates fails with (There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80070643))

So I decided to run sfc scan to correct things get stuck at 76% and also fails giving me this. (Beginning verification phase of system scan.Verification 76% complete.Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.)

I then run the SFCFIX BY
niemiro , but now says it is successful and yet when I run the update ,it comes back to my initial problem.

I have also registered with WINDOWS INSIDER TO INSTALL and correct all Windows errors or corrupt files

My main worry also is that, I have a lot of installed apps and other stuff which I dont want to loose,but upgrade also fails,when I also want to use WINDOWS 10 ISO to upgrade,it says
(you can't keep windows settings,personal files and apps because your current version of windows might be installed in an unsupported directory )

I followed some link ,which advised I change settings in the registry( program files,program files directory to C: .............. and not % ,still the same issue .

Please what do I do to correct all these.?????????????

Hi!

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.

Thank you.

Your HDD is fine.

As this is a Windows Insider Build which is essentially beta software, such issues are to be expected. If you want to fix them and have a reliable OS, please perform a clean installation of the latest stable build of MS Windows using the latest Media Creation Tool.
