Hello folks,

SFC Scan - Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation

DISM RestoreHealth - The configuration registry database is corrupt.

I also tried Windows upgrade to 22H2 using Windows setup but got the error 0x80070002 - 0x3000d

So basically none of the low hanging fruits are working.

Some desperate google searches and I suspect my COMPONENTS file might need a repair so attaching the same alongwith CBS log.

Please get back when possible. Thank you!

Thanks for taking it up!

Attaching CBS log file as required.

Just for a heads up, DISM run failed with the following error:

I need to check what Windows version and build number your machine is, so that I can source appropriate replacements for the missing entries in your latest CBS.log, so please do the following ...

  • Press your Windows Key + R to open a run window.
  • In the Open: box type winver and hit return.
  • An About Windows window will open.
  • Note down what Version and OS Build you have installed.
  • Please post them in your next reply.

Thanks.

I don't appear to be getting an e-mail notification when you post, so looks like I'm going to have to check manually, so there may be some delay to my replies.

If at any time you have posted, and don't receive a reply from me within 24 hours (I'll notify you if I think I'm going to be longer), please send me a PM to say that you've posted.

Looks like I'm going to have to set up a VM with your OS, and update it appropriately, to get what I need. This will likely take quite some time, so I'm afraid it will probably be tomorrow (my time GMT) at the earliest before I get back to you. If I'm going to be any longer I'll let you know tomorrow morning.

Gary -

I somehow ran a free registry cleaner and voila!, my Windows updates are working perfectly now. My system could pull 22H2 and associated .NET updates and my SFC scan is also working fine.

Is there any other check you would suggest me to do before we call it a day?

Lastly, thanks for your prompt support!

No if you're now able to update then I'll mark this topic as solved.

Glad we were able to help.
