Right-click the Start button and click Command prompt(Administrator). If you get a popup about UserAccountControl, allow the program to run. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each. Code: dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Wait for this to finish before you continue Code: copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post. Note: if the file is too big to upload to your next post please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the download link. Did the dism tool ran successfully ?

One last question, windows update still shows failed updates in the past, although the most recent ones (since the fixes) have succeeded. Is there some way I can force the older failed updates to install? Cheers

If you check for updates and none are listed as needing installed then they have already installed successfully or were superseded. Windows Update is extremely good at detecting what updates are needed on the system.
