I've been having trouble with Update, so I ran the Windows Update Troubleshooter program and this error popped up and could not be fixed. I did some Google searching and stumbled here. I'm hoping someone could help.

Sorry for the late reply. My Windows Update is still working (updates are downloading and installing fine). However, I ran the WUT and came up with a new error: 0x800f081f

I ran SFCFix, and I think it came back clean. I'll copy and paste it here.

Should I post a new thread for the new error? My updates are working fine so I'm not too worried about getting this error fixed, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Alright, it isn't a FP. Now SFCFix should return corrupt files when we run it.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) - Scan
Follow the instructions below to run a scan with the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) and provide a log;
  • Download the right version of SURT for your system;
    • Your version of Windows is: Windows 7 SP1 x64
  • Once downloaded, execute the installer, and go throught the installation (this process can take around 15-20 minutes);
  • On completion, a log will be created in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log;
  • Attach this log in your next reply;
