Hi, this is my first post.
Windows 10 64 Bit, 1709
Windows operation system: 16299.192
On Regedit, "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version\" is version 10.0.16299.188
I have 5 updates that repeatedly fail to install:
• 2018-05 Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4134661) - Error 0x8000ffff or Error 0x80240034
• 2019-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based System (KB4493441) - Error 0x8000ffff
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 10 Version 1709, for x64-based System (KB4486153) - Error 0x8000ffff
• Security Update for the pack redistribuable Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 (KB2538243) - Error 0x80070643
• Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based System (KB4462930) - Error 0x8000ffff
PS: the updates are translated from french, so they may not be the exact same name (see the KBs number). And sorry for the english below>
I've tried 'hiding' the updates using wushowhide.diagcab and using the Windows Update Assistant, but the result is the same.
I've tried to install the latest version of Win 10 using an ISO file in-place, but on 57% it stops, returns to desktop and shows the message: "Windows 10 Installation Failed" (option keep all files and applications)
I bought this notebook on 01/2018 and since mid-2018 I've been having these problems with Windows Update (I confess I did'nt care about keeping the machine updated at the time - a major failure from my part).
On Windows Update TroubleShooter, it always shows that it needs a restart and a "Potential Windows Update Database Error Detected". It suggests that I delete the updates from my computer and try to reinstall them, but is doesn't work, it shows an error and it doesn't uninstall the updates.
I have done extensive online research and tried many "fixes" from Microsoft Support including deleting SoftwareDistribution and CatRoot2 and resetting the Windows Update services, clean reboot, same error every time. More worryingly, SFC and DISM both fail to run, on admin mode and sometimes on safe mode too. Maybe the registry is corrupted?
On CBS.log it always shows the error "HRESULT = 0x8007007e - ERROR_MOD_NOT_FOUND" (wrpint.dll) and mostly Error 0x8000ffff - unexpected
On DISM.log: "Failed trying to load drvstore.dll (0x8007007e)" and many others with the same error number.
I don't know what to do next. I've been told from Microsoft Support to reinstall windows 10 unsing and ISO file from an usb and restore it all, but I really don't want to lose any app or driver and have to reinstall them.
So if anyone could help me, I'm waiting for any instructions!
Thanks in advance for any help!
