  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Hi @Maxstar , unfortunately it looks like your `SFCFix.zip` is corrupted. I tried downloading multiple times but `SFCFix.exe` errors out warning of corruption.

Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
The operation completed successfully.

Windows Update seems to be working now, thank you so much @Maxstar ! I will update this thread if I run into any further problems.

Did I do anything wrong to run into these symptoms?

Great, let me know if the update is installed successfully or not.

This is a common issue, although it is difficult to ascertain the exact cause. But there are several reasons for these kind of corruptions, such as power cycle issues, forced shutdowns, system crashes, harddrive and/or memory corruptions.

Hi,

You're welcome. Glad to hear the issue has been resolved.. (y)
