First time posting here and everytime I try to update it always shows an error 0x8007007e
I tried to sfc/SCANNOW but it always says "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."

Tried DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth but it says "Error: 126" "The specified module could not be found."

One thing I noticed while browsing through online forums is that I dont have both of these folders:

x86_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_{TrustedInstaller ID} (32bit Windows)

amd64_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_{TrustedInstaller ID} (64bit Windows)

Would really be grateful for any assistance
P.S. Sorry if I dont have the best grammar, English is not my first language :)

Hello, xntricc.

I did all the steps and still did not work.

Tried DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth but it says "Error: 126" "The specified module could not be found."

I also did the SFCFix and it failed to create the files but it detected no errors. Every time I tried to update it would say error Error 0x8007007e

Tried to sfc/SCANNOW but it always says "Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service."

As what was mentioned in the steps provided, I will now attach the CBS file below. Thank you

Hi, xntricc.

Let's begin.

1. SFCFix

Please do the following to start with.

WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only. No one else should follow these instructions, as it could damage your system.
  • Download the attached SFCFix.zip and save it on your Desktop.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Attach that file to your next reply.

2. Run SFC
  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter
Code:
sfc /scannow
  • Let the scan finish.
  • You will normally get one of the following results:
    Code:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation
Please post the result you got (a screenshot).

3. Run DISM
  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • Enter the command below and press on Enter;
Code:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Let the scan run until the end (100%). Depending on your system, it can take some time.
  • Please post here the result you got (a screenshot).

4. Attach CBS

If any of the above fail without completing, please attach a fresh CBS log for me to check.

In your next reply please post:
  1. The SFCFix.txt
  2. The 2 screenshots
  3. The fresh CBS file

Hi, xntricc.

The fix was successfully applied, SFC fixed some corruptions and DISM completed without errors. I don't see errors in the CBS log, so it's time for you to check for updates and try to install them.

Let me know about the result.
