I bought an Acer Aspire A114-31 with OS Windows 10 PRO S 64 bit and I quickly switched to Windows 10 PRO. Before moving to win 10 pro, noticed that when I opened Microsoft Edge, it stuck and indicated something about "something is wrong".

After I moved to win 10 pro, does not recognize me as a user, or would be 2 users in the same account (an accont is unknown).

Everything does not work well .... Sometimes I can not save my documents, .. in any folder or file … I can not install almost anything. I sometimes manage only in Microsoft Edge, only through Run (not by download). I do not have any drivers installed, most of them were the error update: false (now nothing appears on drivers properties-details-events).

Windows update does not work ... many services can not start (or access denied, or the start, stop, buttons are locked). Windows update was blocked and indicated the error “ BITS service has already started” and “pending update: false”. I tried different ways to start windows update, including a DISM /.../ cleanpackage command (something of that kind) and then came up the error : "Initiating changes for package kb4483452.Target state is absent Client id: DISM Package Manager Provider".

After that I entered the windows update forum and followed the steps for a new thread.

I have an essential question: if I can not eliminate the errors in windows what can I do? If I try an in-place upgrade (or something else) to the Win 10 Pro installation, can I activate windows or need to buy a license? Or will I have to go with this leptop to service to install my Win 10 pro s and then switch to win 10 pro again? I'm waiting for help ... For what Microsoft ever complicates a product, it's impossible for a regular user to do it ....

1. sfc / scannow "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations"

2. Dism / Online / Cleanup-Image / RestoreHealth "The operation completed successfully."

3. Run SFCFix

4. Export / Upload CBS folder

I copied the CBS folder on the descktop and opened it and there are 2 logs. The Windows CBS folder has disappeared and instead is a CBS Temp folder that is empty.

I'm completely stuck, windows go wrong and do not know what to do? How did the CBS folder disappear and now I have CBS Temp ???
I do not know what to do anymore !!! I need your help...

Hi,

In your case I would try the Tweaking tool, if this doesn't help the in-place upgrade seems a good option before doing a wipe and clean install.

The machine have enough free space on the C: drive? not sure if this is one of those models with only a small eMMC card of 32GB...

Download Windows Repair (All-in-One) Portable
  • extract the tweaking.com_windows_repair_aio.zip to c:\Windows\TEMP the zip will extract to a folder called Tweaking.com - Windows Repair
  • execute the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder, accept the Security warning and the EULA
  • click the button Jump To Repairs
  • accept the tool prompt and let the System Restart in Safe Mode to execute the next steps
  • In Safe Mode execute again the file Repair_Windows.exe from the Tweaking.com - Windows Repair folder
  • click the Open Repairs button to access the following screen:
    WindowsRepair.png
  • click the box All Repairs to uncheck all the box's
  • check only the following box's:
    • 01 - Reset Registry Permissions
    • 02 - Reset File Permissions
    • 03 - Reset Service Permissions
    • 04 - Register System Files
    • 05 - Repair WMI
    • 10 - Remove Policies Set By Infections
    • 16 - Repair Windows Updates
    • 20 - Repair MSI (Windows Installer)
    • 25 - Restore Important Windows Services
    • 26 - Set Windows Services to Default Startup
  • check the box Restart/Shutdown System When Finished > Restart System
  • click the Start Repairs button

Thanks for the answer and the time you have given to me! Tweaking.com-Windows Repair went perfectly, but windows still doesn't go well (windows update not working, etc) ... CBS temp (empty) file is still in Windows. I immediately searched and found in the C:\Windows\Logs-CBS.log. I don't know if this is relevant or tab what I may be able to do something. ... Anyway, I expect an answer from you, if you can. I tried Windows update and now shows me the following errors: IsPostback_RC_pendingUpdates; IsPostback: False and Service Status; Problem with BITS service: The requested has already been started. The laptop has a 64GB SSD.

Hi,

Can you check the logs folder inside the extracted Tweaking Repair and post the log that is inside.

In the Logs \ 4.26.2019_12.12.30-AM folder I found 5 files.

- Ok, Ok to confirm the change

Thanks a lot for the answer. I can not find anything about network service ...Thanks a lot for the answer. I checked in the internet properties and two notifications about microsoft edge appeared for 2 applications that caused problems with default app settings for .htm files.

It seems that some special system accounts is possibly missing! So far I never found a case like that.

I think you should try the in-place upgrade. Make sure you uninstall Malwarebytes before doing the install to avoid problems.

I cordially thank you for making an effort to help me !!! I think this problem appeared when I opened my laptop for the first time and had to make my account to Microsoft. After given e-mail and wrote password (consisting of 12 characters) and then there was a window where I was asked to enter a PIN for Windows. I think we should put the same password as the accont from Microsoft, but I thought it hard whenever open laptop to write 12 characters and wrote a PIN consisting of 4 characters. Anything else I can not imagine what happened !!! Anyway, I tried to have three accounts administrator and advance simple one user. No deposit went wrong ... You would not imagine what errors I had. I think I would have a few hours to expose them ... (disappearances partial programs, on desktop 2 shortcuts for the same program shortcuts clamps in various installation, download, open, etc.). Appearance or disappearance .exe file or files ... is terror ... I do not know if this laptop I will be able to make a bootable USB and I can do the upgrade ... it is unbelievable that there are people who get involved in resolving errors and give help. Thousands of thanks !!!

Hi,

The use of the Microsoft account or a PIN to simplify the access its perfectly normal, I suspect that something went wrong when you did the conversion form the S edition to the normal Pro edition.

The process is similar to what happens when Windows 10 installs a new feature update, I have seen cases with messed systems because of permissions etc. that happened during the upgrade.

I run FRST and I see that the addition.txt should have appeared in the "Drivers" section of the second partition, "system", but it is empty ... May cause this something ???

Hi,
I've discovered where the problem comes from... When I bought the laptop I had the same problem when I switched from win 10 Pro S to win 10 pro (I made the mistake of pushing the kind on the pass page instead of pushing the Store button) and in 2 days from the purchase I immediately took the PC to the service to install me win 10 Pro S. The account I made was for gmail and I used it frequently. After I took the PC from the service and when I passed the second time to Windows 10 Pro I registered with another gmail address (newly created).
Year now read on the internet that Microsoft does not automatically delete any email address if you have made an account. Nor have I thought when I create a new account for the same PC, Microsoft will not accomplish this and will disable (not delete) automatically the first account, automatically activating the second account. It is inadmissible!!! So my PC now has 2 accounts. From here he has the error with BITS service hase already been started. I searched the net to delete from Microsoft's first account but I found nothing... are only solutions for deleting the current account from my PC (which will be deleted after 60 days after the request).
If I delete the current account and I want to go to the first account I do not know if Microsoft let me do this and I have no idea how will go windows... On the other hand if the PC stays with 2 accounts and I try in place upgrade, when Windows update goes, I do not know if will only detect the current account, will detect both, which will choose, or will activate both and I will still have the same prob With BITS service??? Any idea???

Hi,

I have doubts that any possible confusion with the Microsoft accounts will create problems with the local system accounts!

If you want to associate only one Microsoft account with your device I think it could be done, check the following article:
How to Remove a Device from Your Microsoft Account

If you logon into Microsoft using both accounts it should be possible to see if the device is listed in both.
