Windows update cannot update files and services while computer is running

Hello

I have been having trouble with Windows Update the past two days and I just want to be able to update my computer. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and the computer is refurbished by garten. Windows Update wants me to restart my computer and I have done that like 15 times and it still pops up with the same thing. Could it be something with the registry? Please get back to me soon.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative. Sorry for the delay. Please do the following.

1. Click your start button and type cmd in the search box.
2. Right-click on cmd that comes up in the search results and select Run as administrator. Answer Yes to the UAC prompt if it appears.
3. Copy/Paste the following into the command-prompt window and hit enter.
reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate /s >1.txt && notepad 1.txt

4. Notepad will open showing the WU info. Can you copy and paste this into your next reply?
