I have had notorious problems with windows update on my system since it arrived out of the box. I am currently in a loop where it attempts to install files, then undoes its own changes.
I have taken the steps that you have prescribed, so I will add my information below. My goal is to get to a Win10 Upgrade. I am kind of leaning towards a full reset and clean install at this point, however, I don't have the disc, and I am a bit weary of that process. It may be just as easy as this. We shall see!

I only have a CbsTemp file, no CBS in the location that you had directed me to. This may not bode well. That folder is empty, and therefore, cannot be zipped.
