  • Attach this log in your next reply;
Alternatively, if these instructions are unclear for you, you can follow the tutorial below.

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)

*gulp* I'm having a flashback, hopefully it will be less than 6 hrs this time. Will do but I gotta say this first.

Merry Christmas!

I wish you the good things in life and happiness.

I hope that it'll take less long as well :) Merry Christmas to you as well Sandwitch!

Looks like there's one more error to fix, but before we continue, I would like to ask you something. See the date in the header of the log?
Code:
2558-12-26 13:00
I doubt we are in 2558 right now :P Can you check your date/time and timezone, and make sure that the values are correct? You can adjust your timezone, and date/time if needed.

Actually, it is 2558 here, we use BE(Buddhist Era) instead of AD/BC, we use them both but my niece's laptop happened to set it to use Thai format. Do you want me to change it to English?

No it's good, I was just wondering :) Follow the instructions below please.

    Note: If you receive an error message saying that the COMPONENTS file is in use, restart your computer and try again. If the error message persist, let me know.
  • Right-click on it, and select Send to... and choose Compressed (zipped) folder;
  • Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;

I can't copy the "components" file. It's saying something about "because the file is open in System". I tried to go straight to it even after restart but it still won't let me copy it.

Follow the instructions below before trying to copy the COMPONENTS Hive file.
  • On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select
    Spcusrh.png

    Code:
    reg unload HKLM\COMPONENTS

Sorry for the delay. The last one is a particular uncommon one that I've never seen before, but after investigating it, I think I know how to fix it :) Follow the instructions below please.
