Hello again,

I would like an updated log please. :)

SFC Scan

  1. Press the Windows Key on your keyboard and X to open up the Power User Tasks Menu
  2. Click (or tap) Command Prompt (admin)
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue (approximately 15 minutes)

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Stephen

Dear Stephen

I have the same poblem (TIPS won't start). Could you help me too? CBS.txt had to be archived due to it's weight of 36MB... The file is clean 100%.

Thank you beforehand!
Looking forward to hearing from you!

It looks like this is the log from yesterday, try copying the file from C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\cbs.log to your Desktop.
Once it has been copied, right click on the CBS.log file (on your desktop) and choose Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder.
Attach CBS.zip from your Desktop with your reply.

That error code seems to indicate that one of the services that BITS depends on are missing.

Download and run MiniToolbox here: MiniToolBox Download
Check the box labeled 'Last 10 Event Viewer Errors', then click GO.

Copy the text from the text file that pops up and paste it with your reply.

**** End of log ****

I found a site that has the reg files for the services: Services - Restore Default Services in Windows 8

Download the reg file for the Network Location Awareness Service here: http://www.eightforums.com/attachme...es-windows-8-a-network_location_awareness.reg
Double click on it to import the registry values, then reboot after it has been imported successfully.
After you have rebooted, try to start the Network Location Awareness and Network List services.
If you get an error message, post back with the error codes.
