Sony Vaio laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium. This is a friend's computer, who gave it to me to fix some issues with it. One of the issues he noticed was Windows Update history showed it has failed to install almost all of the Windows packages for a good number of months now.
After removing Conduit and a couple of trojans, cleaning up, and checking for rootkits (negative), I'm back to this issue which I've still not been able to resolve. I've tried a number of things, including 3-4 tweaking.com repair options (one I wish I hadn't), running the MS fix and your fixes (yours did successfully repair some corrupted files), and was filled with hope at one point when Update re-listed everything that needed installing again...then dashed when most again failed. So, here we are...
Please see attached CBS.zip, which has the latest scan.
Your help would be so greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
