Good morning, I have an issue with updating Windows Server 2019 Datacenter which I hope you can help with.
KB5036896 fails to install with error 0x800F0985. I've tried installing via Windows Update (via our our WSUS server) and downloading the package manually from Microsoft Catalog.
I have restarted, ensured there's enough disk space but I just cannot get it working. I've even tried DISM repair with the ISO mounted.
I've run SFC scan successfully, followed by DISM (as suggested Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth) which fails with error 0xd000034.
I've attached the CBS and ComponentScanner logs for investigation.
Thanks in advance for your help!

(Sorry I didn't set a good title, if an admin could correct this it would be much appreciated!)

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth
