Have been battling this one for a while now, and was following a reddit forum to look at the CBS.log and then remove any packages which were associated with error 800f0983, however, despite repeated attempts at this I keep seeing the same error, hence the request for help.

Have run the sfc scan with no issues.
Have performed the DISM /restorehealth
Have ran component scanner with no reported issues.

Finally have attached the CBS logs, if you could assist would be most grateful.

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Afterwards reboot the server and attempt to update again. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

Hi,

The result of SFCFix is a normal scan, did you drag and drop SFCFix.zip over SFCFix.exe?

Please run SFCFix again as instructed and post the result.

Please see latest SFCFix.txt file it appears downloading the SFCFix.zip file is automatically extracted on a mac!
