Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

I think during my attempt to fix the issue myself i inadvertently made it worse. I was checking logs and error codes and an error message told me i needed to run this command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup. Now DISM never finishes. I attached the DISM logs. It may be time to try and do an in place upgrade?

Maxstar, do you know when the sysnative classes open up next?

1. Please provide the latest CBS logs, this because the DISM log in not very helpful.
2. No, I don't now when the Windows Update Academy will accept new trainees!

Upload a copy of the CBS folder
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply. If the file is too large to attach, upload the CBS.zip file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Please run the following DISM command first and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

It wasn't so much an error message as what DISM was not doing. When i would run DISM commands in powershell they would show that they were ran but never finish. Something i would notice that would co-inside with this symptom would be that windows update service would be stuck in "stopping" and nothing could get it out of that state outside of a reboot.

I ran dism for 10days plus before you got back with me and it just would not fix anything. Just be stuck.

So I ran the in place upgrade and the system is working alot better but i get this error:0x80070005

Have you come across this error before?
