Hi,

My Windows Server 2019 Datacenter has been working great but I realized that the Server manager does not show the installed roles and features in the dashboard.

I tried going through the tutorial of resetting the server manager Roles and features but it doesn't fix the issue.

Things I have tried:

1. Restart :) installed all Update

2. Remove registry Key

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ServerManager\ServicingStorage\ServerComponentCache

3. Remove Cache

%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC

4. sfc /scannow

No error report

5. Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Error: 0x800f081f

The source files could not be found.

Hi!

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

 1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
 2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
 3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
 4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
 5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
 6. SFCFix will now process the script.
 7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
 8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put

tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, run DISM again.

However, the Server manager Do Not Display afterward. Nothing happens after running the server manager. But the Task Manage shows that the processes if serer manager is running and taking user of about 10% of the CPU.

Thank you, please do the following:

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST64.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Hi, removing Symantec fixed the problem with the server manager does not open. However, Roles and Features still not loaded in the server manager.

Solution:

I came across to find a solution to the problem. I would like to post it here to help others.

First, the issue with the Server Manager is not opening but using resources is caused by Symantec as mentioned above.
The problem was discussed here: Windows Server Manager not showing
And have a workaround here: Unable to launch Server Manager, Active Directory Administrator Center, or Hyper-V Console
Typically it is caused by Symantec Endpoint Protection SEP 14.2 MP1, upgrading it to 14.2 RU1 (14.2.3335.1000) should fix it as mentioned in the thread.

Second, back to the original problem with roles not displaying,

I found some Application Error in the event Viewer showing as

Faulting application name: ServerManager.exe, version: 10.0.17763.168, time stamp: 0xc452e206
Faulting module name: wmidcom.dll, version: 10.0.17763.1, time stamp: 0x0fb50d5f
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000013bc8
Faulting process id: 0x3cb0
Faulting application start time: 0x01d5faa4998f0c2c
Faulting application path: C:\Windows\system32\ServerManager.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\wmidcom.dll
Report Id: f56c7f7c-0052-4e67-991a-eabfe10d8140
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

And here is how I fix it:

Delete the Server Manager list file from: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\ServerManager\

In registry Rename

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ServerManager\ServicingStorage\ServerComponentCache

to

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ServerManager\ServicingStorage\ServerComponentCache.old

In server manager Uninstall roles and features removed MultiPoint Connector

Reboot.
