Hello,

Have been working on troubleshooting November cumulative update (KB5032196) not installing, and showing a 0x800706be error. However, after reviewing the winver this is at the updated level (17763.5122). Also when looking at some of the individual files they also show 5122 update. Despite this it's showing as failed in windows update.

I've gone through the Windows update troubleshooter which apparently reset the service registration.

I've also performed a component scanner which doesn't flag any issues, but a SFC /Scannow stops at 75% and shows "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation"

Any assistance greatly appreciated!

Alex

Hi,

Please reboot this server and attempt to update again. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS logs.

Server has been rebooted, fix repeated along with SFC /scannow. That is still showing a windows resource protection issue, but the latest 2023-12 CU KB5033371 has installed successfully first time.
