[SOLVED] Windows Server 2019 - error installing CU updates for past 3+ months...

Hello Guys,

Error in Windows Updaate: Last failed install attempt on ‎10/‎29/‎2022 - 0x800f0986

I used steps mentioned in forum. Already runned and send ComponentsScanner results.
Also CBS log attached.
System has issues for some time. I tried various schema of repair except clean install.
Used sfc, dism, even installin updates in safe mode - nothing helped.
Please help me in this case as I'm not so good in troubleshooting thus errors - I see them in CBS logs but do not know how to fix them properly.

I have the same issue on other server but want to fix them one by one.

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.


Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.

Please post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as well, so I can check that all files have been successfully replaced. Here's the next fix.
