Hello Sysnative!
I administrate a Windows Sever 2019.
Back in September I noticed that the server failed the KB5005112 with Error 0x800703f1.
The server is now unable to install updates. I tried to manually reset the WU and download and install the update manually, but nothing works.
furthermore, the server failed both SFC /SCANNOW and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
From the DISM.log I noticed this:
Failed to load the COMPONENTS hive from 'C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS' into registry key 'HKLM\COMPONENTS'
I started googling and ended up on your site forum. The forum seems very nice and proffesional. I found several other threads resolving to the same issue, repairing the COMPONENTS hive.
As no one should copy the solution from other threads in here, I am making my own in hope, that you can help me repair this servers Windows Update corruption.
I tried your SFCFix tool on the server and it also, mentions the corruption of COMPONENTS hive.
I've attached the section from the DISM.log that I was reffering from.
I hope that you can help me.
