Hi,

The server has had a BSoD so I have restored the server back to its last working state. Running CHKDSK and SFC scans came back fine. However running dism /online /cleanup-image /checkhealth gives the message 'Error: 0x800f081f The source files could not be found'. Any ideas what may be causing the issue and how to fix it?

I have uploaded the CBS and DISM logs here: CBS and DISM Logs.zip

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

Step 1.
Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Hi Max,

Great to hear from you :-).

Thank you I will implement the patch now.

What was the issue if you do not mind me asking?

The CBS log shows this error, so this file is missing or corrupted.

As for the BSOD on this server please post a new thread in this forum, perform these instrucutions and post the requested files so an BSOD Expert can analyze the *.dmp files.

We restored the server back to the last working state so we are no longer dealing with the BSOD.

We have just done the Windows updates and it has triggered the BSoD.

What do you recommend?

Hi,

Please start a new thread in the BSOD section, see post#4 and post a link to this thread.
