Hello,
I have a Windows Server 2019 that can't install updates. Last successful installed update was on 03.2021.
I followed the posting instructions but with no luck.

Any help on repairing this server would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

I will look into your problem.
Note: I'm currently in training so my posts will need to be approved by the Sysnative instructors.

Hi,

Step 1. Download
56f31e53c97da-SFCFix.PNG
SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Reboot the computer and run the System File Checker again.
  • Click the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter.
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • Wait for this to finish before you continue
  • Now copy and paste the following command into it, and press enter.
    Code:
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This command will create cbs.txt on your Desktop. Zip this file and attach the zipped cbs.txt to your next post.

Hi Maxstar!

Thank you, for you support.
I applied the SFCFix.
Here are the logs.

After the reboot i was optimistic to try the windows update, but there was an error again (CBS2_Update_failed.log).

It would be wonderful if you could look at the error.

Thanks,
Sekomi

Hi,

Browse to this folder: C:\SFCFix and attach SFCFix (2022-04-05 <time>).txt to your next post.

Then:
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\INF folder.
  • Right-click on the file setupapi.dev and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file setupapi.dev.zip in your next reply.
