Hello,
This is my first post so be gentle with me lol. I've been having this issue with my wsus server downloading and applying KB4529979 (I think). It comes back with
Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later.

Error code: (0x80073712)

I've search the forum and found some answers but most of them were per machine and didn't want to screw anything up. Some things I did try were the sfc command and DSIM commnands but that didn't work.

Any help would be great~ Thank you

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some
of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For
example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

When I ran the SGCFix it mentioned it couldn't create the desktop file(s) and generated a DSIM log file but when I clicked the window it diapered so I couldn't get it. I hope these files help.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

SFC Scan

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

See below and thank you. I also attached the file in case I posted it incorrectly. Also, it seemed as though once it was done that the cbs log file was increasing?

Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
Save any open documents and close all open windows.
On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
SFCFix will now process the script.
Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Afterwards, run DISM again and attach CBS.log.

SFC Scan

Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

No, Thank you!! See attached... one quick question and hopefully not a dumb one. Seeing that this is a wsus server, do you think that will corrupt anything related to that?

example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not
supported in offline servicing scenarios.

If it comes back clean, you can try updates.
