Hello, I have a Windows Server 2016 Datacenter and i'm having the following Windows Updates failing: KB5030504 & KB5031362.
Any help will be appreciated.

2023-09 Servicing Stack Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB5030504) - Error 0x8000ffff
2023-10 Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 for x64-based Systems (KB5031362) - Error 0x8000ffff

I've done the clean boot and disabled my antivirus.

Step #1 - Run SFC Scan fails
C:\Users\Administrator>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart
Windows and run sfc again.
- reboot does not make a difference

Step #2 - Run SURT/DISM
DISM failed. No operation was performed.
For more information, review the log file.
The DISM log file can be found at C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\dism.log

Step #3 - Run ComponentsScanner
Attached, along with CBS.log

Thank you very much for taking the time to look at this for me!

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Sorry for the delay, can you please upload your COMPONENTS hive to look at.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

Hi,

Step 1. Download

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

FRST64.exe ran successfully but upon reviewing the attached Fixlog.txt it seems that nothing happened due to permissions. Ran it as Administrator twice.
