[SOLVED] Windows Server 2016 Standard unable to install Updates with error 0x80073712

One of our Windows Server 2016 Std. cannot install Windows updates. The installation always fails with error 0x80073712.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

aborts at about 5.5% with error 2 "The system cannot find the specified file.".

Does anyone have any advice on how we could fix this?

I am really grateful for any help. Therefore, I actually do not like to push this topic. But is there no one here who has a tip on how I could proceed?

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

The cbs.log is now to big for uploding here. So here ist the extrenal Link to the cbs.log: CBS.log
